Person: Nevermind, song sucks
Me:..Why? You just said a second ago you loved it, I love this song, it’s a good song
Person: It’s a Kanye West song, and I don’t like his songs
Me: How come?
Person: Because he’s a friggin douchebag..
Me:…duh XD
I’ll stop this play by play here, but I really dislike when people like songs, but then doesn’t like the song when they find out something about the artist. Looks for example, so what if an artist isn’t as attractive as you perceive, their gift just might happen to be their voice or other musical talent, and that’s rare compared to a pretty face.
My main point to this rant however, is when someone finds out an artist’s true colors who they like, one shouldn’t stop liking an artist if they have douchebag tendencies. Sure, if an artist out there was a supporter of the Nazi party, but had decent talent in the arts, I admit, I wouldn’t support them anymore. Doesn’t mean they lack talent in the arts, just wouldn’t choose to support them. Kanye West is an artist, who clearly has douchebag tendencies. Doesn’t mean his talent is lost with that, just means he isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Hell even admits he’s a douchebag, asshole, whichever. In a way, that makes me respect him a bit more than someone who has douchebag tendencies but clearly doesn’t think they are.
